Hope in Action
Hope has been an active community advocate for years. See and read about her in action!
Read the East Bay Times endorsement for Hope Johnson! --- "For City Council, oust Carlyn Obringer and replace her with Hope Johnson, who seeks to end special-interest politics." East Bay Times. --- Hope won't take donations form developers, police associations, or big corporations. She works with the community. It's that simple. Workers and residents in Concord deserve better than an untrustworthy developer like Lennar and what it was offering. That's why Hope was against Lennar as a master developer from the outset. Concord needs a leader who will ensure a transparent process for our residents and support our local labor workforce.
Concord Clayton Pioneer: This November, Concord City Council District 2 incumbent Carlyn Obringer will face four challengers hoping to unseat the two-term council member and former mayor. It is the first election for Obringer since the city changed to district elections in 2018. District 2 covers North Concord, including downtown, the North Concord BART station, Holbrook and Sun Terrace.
East Bay Times 2016 Endorsement: Concord council members so badly tarnished their city’s reputation that only a total housecleaning will begin to repair the damage. After the Concord Naval Weapons Station debacle, voters must carefully pick ethical candidates who understand city issues, but don’t align themselves with political power brokers. We recommend Hope Johnson.
